What is Anchor?
Anchor is a lightweight, open-source blog system written in PHP, designed to let authors simply write, with Markdown and HTML support. It has custom fields and per-post CSS and JavaScript. The project is distributed under the GPL, but its maintainers archived it in 2020 and advise against production use.
Project status: The official GitHub repository was archived on 19 May 2020 and is read-only. The maintainers state the project became stale and should no longer be considered production ready. The Softaculous-listed release (0.12.7) is from July 2018. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.

Anchor requirements
- PHP: PHP 5.6+ (per archived README)
- Database: MySQL 5.6+ (5.7 recommended)
- Archived README lists curl, mcrypt, gd and PDO
- Compatibility with current PHP versions is not verified
It is a tiny PHP and MySQL application of about 3 MB. Because the maintainers archived it and say it is not production ready, use it only if you need it, and keep regular backups.
