What is Directus?
Directus is a content management framework that wraps a custom SQL database with an API and an admin interface. The version Softaculous installs is 8.8.1, the legacy PHP-based release, which the project has archived and marked end-of-life, discouraging its use. The current Directus is a separate product available from the official project.
Project status: Softaculous lists Directus 8.8.1 from August 2020, which corresponds to the legacy PHP-based Directus 8. That version's repository was archived on 6 January 2023 and is marked end-of-life; the current Directus is a separate, actively developed product. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.
