What is Gallery?
Gallery is an open-source, web-based photo album organiser for hosting and displaying photos on your own website, licensed under GPL-2.0. Official development of Gallery 3 was suspended in 2014, and a community group later released 3.1.x updates, the most recent in November 2021. New projects should consider an actively maintained gallery instead.
Project status: Official Gallery 3 development was suspended in 2014. A community group later released 3.1.x versions, the latest being 3.1.5 on 14 November 2021 (over 3 years ago). The official galleryproject.org site currently fails certificate validation. The GitHub README describes the code as a development version (3.1+). We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.
