What is Hotaru CMS?
Hotaru CMS is an open-source, plugin-powered CMS written in PHP for building bookmarking and social voting websites similar to Digg or Reddit. It includes user registration and profiles, voting, private messaging, comments and RSS feeds. Its most recent release is from 2015, so it is effectively dormant.
Project status: The latest release listed by Softaculous (1.7.3) is dated May 2015, and the GitHub README documents testing only with PHP 5.2 and MySQL 5.0. No newer release was found. Compatibility with current PHP versions is not documented. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.
