What is OpenSupports?
OpenSupports is an open-source ticket system for managing customer support requests. It has a PHP and MySQL back end, a JavaScript front end and an API, and is licensed under GPL-3.0. The project also sells a hosted service. Its last tagged release dates from January 2022.
Project status: Latest tagged release on GitHub is v4.11.0 (11 January 2022); the repository was last pushed to in April 2024. The official documentation states that PHP 8 is not supported yet. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.

OpenSupports requirements
- PHP: PHP 7 or newer per the installation guide, which also notes that PHP 8 is not supported yet
- Database: MySQL 4.1 or newer
- PDO extension
- Apache 2.4+ (AllowOverride enabled so .htaccess works)
OpenSupports documents PHP 7 with MySQL and Apache, and states PHP 8 is not supported yet, so on cPanel you would keep the account on a PHP 7 version. That reflects the project, which has had no release since 2022.
