What is Oxwall?
Oxwall is an open-source community platform written in PHP and MySQL for building social networks, from small fan clubs to larger portals. It launched in 2010 and is supported by the Oxwall Foundation. Plugins add photos, video, chat, forums and blogs. Its last release on GitHub was in October 2023.
Project status: The latest release on GitHub (core-1.9.1) is from October 2023 and the last repository commit is the same day, which is roughly three years ago. The version Softaculous lists (1.8.4.1) dates from July 2016. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.
