What is Zikula?
Zikula is an open-source PHP web application toolkit that extends the Symfony framework, letting developers build websites and online applications from modules and themes. Its core repository was archived by the owner in March 2026 and the last release dates from December 2021, so it is no longer under active development.
Project status: The zikula/core GitHub repository was archived by its owner on 13 March 2026. The last tagged release is 3.1.0 (December 2021); Softaculous lists 3.0.4 and 1.5.9. A version 4.0 rewrite is described as work in progress. We list it because it is still available in the Softaculous installer; consider an actively maintained alternative for new projects.
