What is Snipe-IT?
Snipe-IT is a free, open-source web application for tracking IT assets such as hardware and software licences, and who they are assigned to. It is maintained by Grokability, built on the Laravel framework, and released under the AGPL-3.0 licence. It also provides a REST JSON API.

Snipe-IT requirements
- PHP: PHP 8.2.0 to 8.5.x per current docs
- Database: MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB
- PHP extensions including json, openssl, pdo, mbstring, tokenizer, curl, mysqli, zip, fileinfo, bcmath, xml, sodium, exif
- GD or Imagick for images and barcodes
- Composer 2 and SSH for command-line installs and upgrades
- Apache with mod_rewrite
The docs list many PHP extensions plus Composer 2 and SSH for command-line installs, and note that shared hosting usually already has most extensions except possibly LDAP. Confirm the required PHP 8.2+ version is available.
