What is Chamilo?
Chamilo is an open-source e-learning platform written in PHP under the GPL-3.0. It is designed to be easy for teachers to adopt and offers course authoring, learner tracking, communication tools and document management. As of January 2026 its governance is listed as BeezNest Belgium, and is aimed at schools and organisations.

Chamilo requirements
- The Chamilo 3.0 line in the main repository lists PHP 8.3 to 8.5 and MariaDB 10+/MySQL 5.7+; requirements for the 1.11 release offered by Softaculous were not verified
Chamilo is a PHP and database application. The main repository for the newer line lists 2 vCPUs and 4 GB RAM as a minimum, and requirements for the 1.11 release could not be verified, so check the current documentation.
